Fun experiments beyond typical maintenance repairs:

These potential projects will vary on what the current needs of the community are

• Grey water systems for communal kitchens

• Design & implementation of a solar smoker, cooker and/or water heater

• Exploration of alternative building materials (such as airecrete)

• Human-powered forge to blacksmith items

• Repair wood-fired hot tub

• Create a plastic shredder & solar-powered forge to melt plastic into usable bricks

Lost Valley Educational Center is looking for 1 maintenance interns to join our land team this season!

• We are looking for dedicated and passionate maintenance intern who wants to live and participate in community. This is a great role for someone with some experience in electrical, plumbing and infrastructure repair.

• The maintenance internship role works with the Site & Maintenance Circle to accomplish the community infrastructure repair goals.

• We are looking for 20 hours a week with a three-month commitment. This can be extended if both parties are amenable.
