Food & Lodging details
Meals
The Lost Valley kitchen provides delicious, all-organic vegetarian cuisine at affordable rates. Our chefs cook up unique, flavorful, and hearty meals that won’t make you miss meat for a second! Some ingredients are harvested from our own gardens, orchards, and chickens, which is as local and fresh as you can get. Meals are served buffet style, and there is diverse seating indoors and out. Meals are often a highlight for attendees, because of the healthy & tasty food and the good company.
Groups who find value in cooking together are also able to rent one of our kitchens. We have a large walk-in fridge where larger groups can store up to week’s worth of perishables. There is also a personal foods kitchen and a seasonal Outdoor Kitchen in the meadow that are available for rent (either shared or exclusively).
Lodging
There are three accommodation options for events. Most dorm rooms have two beds (either as bunks or standalone) – thus single occupancy and double occupancy are options. And camping is always available.
Each dorm floor has 6 rooms and a shared hall bathroom (two sinks, two stalls, two showers). Each room has an opening window and heater. The downstairs rooms have a mixture of layouts and are more rustic but more soundproofed. The upstairs was recently gutted and completely renovated but sound travels well. The upstairs rooms also have lofts (taking advantage of the vaulted ceiling), which is a fun addition and increases capacity to three or even four beds per room.
Additional rooms in the Large Dorm are available in summer (June, July, August). This increases capacity to over 50 beds of indoor lodging. All beds come with full bedding, or choose just a pillow, pillowcase, and fitted sheet for a discount.
Camping happens around the edge of our big camas meadow, ringed by large fir trees. It is picturesque and natural. Nearby are an outdoor kitchen, solar shower, and composting toilet. Camping is most common in summer, when the weather is dry and warm, but is an option any time of year; some events give attendees the option of staying in the dorm or camping for a reduced price.
The dorm and camping meadow are both a short walk from the Lodge and classrooms.
