Camassia Institute Financial Assistance Programs

Lost Valley is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We actively work to make our eco-village and permaculture programs affordable for everyone, including people with limited financial resources. If you are having difficulty with the course fees, we encourage potential students to explore financial assistance options within their local community  (college, community centers, gardening co-ops, green advocacy groups, etc) for grants, donations or other fundraising options. If assistance is still required, Lost Valley offers a limited number of scholarships and payment plan options. If you have any further questions about our payment plans or financial assistance contact the registrar for more information.Listed are our program payment options currently available.  Please contact the registrar with any questions or concerns you may have regarding this information.  We look forward to working with you!

1. Transfer your application to a future course that better suits your financial or personal needs.

Transferring your application information to a future course is something the Camassia registrar can do quickly and easily, but please contact the director to talk about it before making a decision.  The director’s contact information is registrar@lostvalley.org and phone number 541 937 3351 ext. 104.

2. Apply for our extended payment plan.

The extended payment plan is a legally binding promisary note whereby the participant will pay the total of the tuition in accordance with an agreed upon payment schedule.  The Extended Payment Plan requires the participant to pay 40% of the course total tuition to register, and after the end of the course three installment payments, due every 2 months, each for 20% of the total tuition cost. This results in a schedule that allows the balance of the course fee to be paid off within six months. If you are interested in this plan contact the Registrar.

3.  Apply for a scholarship.

For those who demonstrate the ability to use the knowledge gained from a Camassia course to actively enrich their own local community, yet are unable to cover the full tuition fees, we offer a limited number of Camassia Scholarships.  The amount awarded varies with the individual scholarship, based on need. Scholarship applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis, and awarded on the recommendation of the Camassia Director.
