BootyDharma: The Enlightened Path of Dancing to Live Rock Music

A number of community residents started jamming with electric instruments a few years ago.

This developed into our band called BootyDharma, which we bootydharma, the lost valley band, marc tobin, john botti, sam bascom, joh taylor, ann roth rebecca lombardidecided means the enlightened path of dancing to live rock music.  The name is a play on "BodhiDharma", the 5th century Buddhist monk who helped establish Zen in China.  Our style includes a variety of classic rock songs, mixing in some funky grooves, spacey elements and original jams.  We have been known to venture into reggae, southern rock, heavy rock, and bluegrass territory.

The current lineup of the band is:

John Botti on rhythm guitar, vocals, and keyboard (and occasional lead guitar and drums)

Marc Tobin on lead electric guitar (and occasional vocals and drums)

Joe Taylor on drums (and occasional keyboards)

Sam Bascomb on bass

Ann Roth on keyboards

Rebecca Lombardi on vocals

We often integrate other musicians who are here for courses, internships or to be residents into some songs.

BootyDharma mostly plays at Lost Valley for anyone who cares to come by and listen, sometimes for courses and parties here.  We have played gigs off site occasionally and wish to do that more in the future.

Last year, Sam, our bass player, who is also Lost Valley's maintenance person, retrofitted a condemned cabin to live livable condition, and in the process made the downstairs a sound insulated music jam space/studio, and the upstairs his living quarters.

While some people like our style of music more than others, for those who do enjoy it, it serves as a great for m of community building and enjoyment, and even those who don't lean towards this style of music appreciate the joy it brings to those who do.
